Lynchburg Redevelopment & Housing Authority
Branding & Web Design

By Lauren Booth for Stimulus Advertising

The Lynchburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority was undergoing a website update to Joomla 4 from a website that Stimulus had originally designed. To compliment the fresh look of a new website, we included several new logo design options for LRHA to choose from. I designed the following three logo designs.
Website Design:
Lynchburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority is a client of Stimulus Advertising, in which I collaborated on the website design with Benton Evans and Lynn Kirby. The website was created using Joomla and a Joomla-compatible template as an update to an existing site designed by Stimulus. The site was designed to be approachable and easy to find information, which was an important goal of the client.
Logo Option 1:
The client asked for logo options showing the blue ridge mountains, as Lynchburg is known for its beautiful view of the mountains. I incorporated a silhouette of Sharp Top mountain behind the design of a house to best communicate the brand.
Logo Option 2:
For this design, I showcased a silhouette of downtown Lynchburg incorporated into the shape of a house key. The gradient and highlight provide depth and an approachable mood to the brand.
Logo Option 3:
The client asked for logo options showing the blue ridge mountains, and also wanted to include the James River, as it cuts through downtown Lynchburg. I blended the two forms together into a single icon that can be recognizable and simplistic.
Logo Option 4:
This is the logo the client chose. I included two familiar mountains of the area- "Sharp top" and "Flat top" and a roofline of a house. I modernized their logo by including a sans-serif font and clean overall style.
